Simon Jackson is Great Britain's most successful judo player of all time amassing an incredible 3 Paralympic, 3 World and 16 European gold medals throughout his astonishing 20 year career.
Spanning 5 Paralympic Games, Simon won his first gold medal at just 16 years of age in the Seoul Paralympic Games in 1988. He went onto successfully defend his title in Barcelona in 1992 and again Atlanta in 1996. Following this unprecedented 3rd consecutive gold for the sport of judo, Simon was awarded the MBE in the 1997 New Year's Honours List for his services to judo.
In 2008, a niggling back injury saw Simon look beyond the judo mat, where he discovered tandem cycling. Within 3 weeks of his introduction to 4 times World Tandem Sprint and Kilometre Champion, Barney Storey, Simon and Barney were recording times that placed them firmly inside the top 3 in the world.
Alongside his sporting successes, Simon is an accomplished speaker and a popular figure in the media. Simon can entertain and inspire any audience with the stories of his quest for sporting excellence and is perfect for both schools and businesses alike.
Simon has vast experience of making motivational speeches and presentations at a wide range of events. His motivating style and enthusiastic approach uplifts every audience and with his sense of humour and insightful comments, he never fails the listeners.
Simon is well informed and able to tailor presentations to suit the needs of the client. He has the ability to interact with a wide range of people and is comfortable in any environment. He is a very popular speaker at schools both in the classroom and on the stage at academic or sporting awards evenings.
At JudoJackson Club, Oulder Hill we offer many benefits such as high levels of fitness and stamina, balance and coordination. These are just a few of the qualities enhanced through the sport of Judo and whilst we don't teach self-discipline, we do reinforce the positive messages that young people receive from home and school.
The dynamic sessions are enjoyed by an ever growing squad of young people who are supported by a loyal and ever growing band of parents, who are welcomed by the club.
