  Simon Jackson - Cycling

Simon competed in International Tandem Cycling with the Great Britain Para-Cycling Team for two years. This sport is designed for athletes who are blind or visually impaired. They are known as the ‘stoker’. Athletes ride on the back of the Tandem and they are partnered with a sighted rider, who rides at the front, known as the ‘the pilot’.

As this sport was extremely competitive at the time when Simon was on the GB Team, Simon narrowly missed out on going to the Beijing Paralympics and was beaten by 0.1 of a second by follow team mates in the trials, Simon decided to retire from competitive sport.
